UK bingo market

Let’s face it, when you think of bingo most people see the pensioners in the nursing homes having a ball. Stereotypical? Yes but its true. But now, its becoming bigger and bigger by the day. This is easy to see by these crunching numbers, in 2004 there were only 17 bingo sites on the web And today there are 243! Even Spain, the second most competitive market went from 6 sites to 40 in the last year. The UK online bingo industry earned over £120,000,000 last year alone. With over 500,000 bingo players in the U.K.

At the moment online bingo is really big in the U.K and still growing so Europe is catching this opportunity with websites being launched on many lesser known domains from all over the world. With the U.K pulling ahead in the bingo market Europe are following in our footsteps. America used to be really big in the bingo market place but with the passing of the new legislation in the USA this has been drastically reduced.

The television industry is even catching on to this bingo craze with live games being played on ITV, namely Bingo Night Live and it was developed by Party Gaming Plc. This increase in the bingo world is much to do with the growth of broadband. To play bingo people used to drive to the bingo hall, with their girlfriends or family members but with the fuel prices rising and the reduction in costs for internet access, not to mention the smoking ban why shouldn’t they stay at home and play the same game online, without having to pay nearly as much but able to play whenever they want to.

The bingo craze is continually moving forward and it isn’t going to stop anytime soon, so look out for the  online bingo websites, TV shows, advertising campaigns both on the television and in your favourite magazines. Avoid it if you want but you’ll be missing the fun, the friends, the money, so why would you want to avoid that?
